The Costume Design & Fashion department have 4 Laboratories which provides a dynamic setting where imaginative ideas are transformed into tangible garments. Students explore essential design principles, including silhouette, color theory, and textile manipulation, all within the context of character development and storytelling. The lab is outfitted with sewing machines, dress forms, pattern-making tools, and a wide array of fabrics and trims. Participants develop crucial skills such as pattern drafting, draping, sewing techniques, and embellishment. They also study both historical and contemporary fashion trends to enrich their design ideas. Projects range from creating costumes specifically designed for theatrical characters to developing distinctive fashion collections. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, problem-solving, and fostering each student's artistic vision. The lab promotes a creative environment where students enhance their technical abilities and explore the significance of clothing as a form of visual expression.
