It was Established in 1995, the Department of English initially offered a General English course to support all affiliated programs at the institution. Recognizing the increasing importance of specialized English education, the department expanded its offerings over the years. In 2009, the B.A. in English Literature with Computer Applications was provisionally affiliated, and by 2011, the department introduced a full-fledged B.A. in English Literature. Further expanding its academic horizon, the department launched the M.A. in English Language and Literature in 2012 and the M.Phil. program in 2015.
The department has continually evolved, driven by a dedicated and dynamic faculty committed to academic excellence.
