Overview

The PG & Research Department of Mathematics at Bharathidasan College of Arts & Science stands as one of the institution’s most dynamic and promising departments. Since its inception in 2008, the department has been offering a comprehensive three-year undergraduate course in Mathematics. In 2014, it expanded its academic offerings with a two-year postgraduate course, followed by the introduction of an M.Phil (Full-Time / Part-Time) research programme in 2015. More recently, in 2024, the department launched a Certificate Programme in “Vedic Mathematics.”

Renowned for its exemplary teaching methodologies and commitment to quality education, the department boasts a team of highly qualified faculty members who actively engage in both teaching and research. To further enrich the student experience, the department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, and conferences that enable students to enhance their knowledge and stay updated on the latest developments in the field.

Additionally, the department celebrates National Mathematics Day annually, honoring the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. It also conducts certificate courses designed to strengthen the mathematical skills of students from various disciplines, preparing them for competitive exams.

Facto Association

Each academic year, the Department selects students to serve as President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary for the Department Association. Through this association, the department organizes various programs that foster academic and professional growth.
